Empty Bowls

“Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement by artists and crafts people in cities and towns around the world to raise money for food related charities to care for and feed the hungry in their communities.”

For this class, we were tasked to design and hand build 10 identical soup bowls. I chose to throw my bowls on the wheel, presenting challenges with making them identical. Once bisque fired, I glazed my bowls with glossy white and aurora green: tying them all together with an imperfect dip. These bowls were then given to the Empty Bowls charity in Floyd, VA.
